1. The Merge By Pak - $91.8 Million
The Merge was sold by digital artist Pak for $91.8 million via Nifty Gateway. 28,983 people pooled together to buy 312,686 shares which has been distributed to the collectors.
2. The First 5000 Days By Beeple - $69 Million
‘The First 5000 Days’ was sold by Beeple (aka Mike Winkelmann) via auction by the famous Christie house for a whopping $69 million. It was sold to Vignesh Sundaresan, an entrepreneur and angel investor.
3. Clock By Pak - $52.7 Million
Designed by Pak, The Clock is a real-time counter of Julian Assange’s imprisonment. It was auctioned for 52.7 million in February of 2022 to AssangeDAO.
4. HUMAN ONE By Beeple - $28.9 Million
Beeple made headlines again by auctioning HUMAN ONE for $28.9 million at Christie’s auction. HUMAN ONE is a kinetic video sculpture with a corresponding dynamic NFT, dubbed by Beeple as the “the first portrait of a human born in the metaverse.”
5. Cryptopunk #5822 - $23.7 Million
The most expensive Cryptopunk ever sold and also 5th on the list of most expensive NFTs sold is Cryptopunk #5822. It was sold in February 2022 to Deepak Thapliyal, the founder of Chain.
6. Cryptopunk #7523 - $11.75 million
Next on the list we have Cryptopunk #7523, which, like its counterpart #5822, is one of the Cryptopunks with the ‘Alien’ trait (one of the super rare traits). It was sold for $11.75 million to Shalom Meckenzie, the largest shareholder of DraftKings.
7. TPunk #3442 - $10.5 Million
Tpunks are the first NFTs on the TRON Blockchain. The most expensive NFT sale on the TRON network and also 7th on the list is TPunk #3442 which was sold to Justin Sun, co-founder of TRON for $10.5 million. He has since then donated it to the APENFT marketplace.
8. CryptoPunk #4156 - $10.26 Million
CryptoPunk #4156 was sold to a pseudonymous collector (now known as Punk4156) who is also the founder of Nouns. The punk sold possesses one of the rare CryptoPunk traits which is the “Ape trait”.
9. CryptoPunk #5577 - $7.7 Million
CryptoPunk #5577 was sold to Robert Leshner, the founder of the Compound DeFi protocol. The punk also have the rare “Ape trait” and an iconic Cowboy hat.
10. CryptoPunk #3100 - $7.6 Million
CryptoPunk #3100 is the 7th most rare CryptoPunk in the entire collection. Not only is it of the rare Alien trait, it is also one of the only few that is wearing a white and blue headband, making it even more desirable.
Special Mention: Crossroad #1/1 - $6.6 Million
Crossroad was created by Beeple and was sold for $6.6 million to @pablorfraile via Nifty Gateway. The NFT is an abstract animated NFT which depicts people walking past a body.
